Why
Welland Valley rapeseed oil?
Welland Valley premium, cold-pressed rape seed oil.
‘A first class culinary
oil’.
We’re master growers of rapeseed; we’ve been cultivating crops since
the 1940s - and we know just how to get the best out of them.
Oil can be extracted from the seed in two ways, either using a heat treatment
which benefits large scale production but yields a lower grade oil – or
by ‘cold pressing’ the seed which yields a higher grade of oil but
is not conducive to mass production.
We don’t use mass production techniques to extract the oil (no heat extraction,
de-gumming, bleaching); ours is virgin seed and ‘cold pressed’ in
order to retain its vital nutrients.
It’s free of any additives, chemicals, detergents or deodorisers – we
simply press the oil out of the seed, pass it through a filter and bottle it
into beautiful
golden oil. |

Why
rapeseed oil?
Because
it’s
good for you – and it’s
good in the kitchen.

Good
for YOU!
Rapeseed oil is a good source of both polyunsaturated and
monounsaturated fat, vitamins D and E – helping lower
cholesterol, improve the immune system and strengthen bones.
Also, it contains ten times the amount of Omega 3 fatty acids
than olive oil - according to the British Nutritional Foundation,
Rapeseed oil is one of the richest sources of Omega 3 essential
fatty acids. Other important sources include oily fish, nuts,
grass-fed meat and greens.
Current research states that diets which contain Omega 3 can
be very healthy – promoting among other things: improved
brain and sight development in infants and adults; reduced
risk of heart disease, high blood pressure and circulatory
problems; reduced or eased inflammatory conditions such as
arthritis… and possibly also reduce the body’s
resistance to insulin.
Omega 3 cannot be produced by the body,
so to get Omega 3 – you
need to introduce it to your diet.
Good
in the Kitchen
Because rapeseed
oil has a pleasant, nutty flavour combined with a high flash
point – it is versatile, usable in
all types of cooking, from salads to Yorkshire Puddings! Rapeseed
oil – ranked
highest (9/10) in a recent comparison with other culinary
oils
